Legal agents?

Pretty backed up on blog ideas so, using this opportunity to catch up on these posts are essential. I'll begin with Holmes and his views on Legal Agents and Legal principals.

Legal agents according to Holmes, are sent out in replace or absence of those who requested their services. For example, some slaves were legal agents, they had duties to attend stores or something of that nature to fulfill a task. Their "master's" sent them out in efforts to complete a task because they trust that the contract between them would hold validity due to the fact of considering the slave to be a legal agent to handle his business tasks for him.

Slaves were trusted enough to be legal agents when business was involved, but by law could not be a legal principal?

Intriguing indeed.
